Magister

Terms of Service

Last updated August 14, 2026

The service

Magister helps you ask questions about board-game rules. It uses the game materials we make available and AI to produce an answer with supporting sources when possible.

Use it wisely

Magister does not change the official game materials it processes. We aim to present those rules clearly and accurately, with supporting sources where possible. Even so, an answer may be incomplete or mistaken, particularly when editions, expansions, errata, or unusual game situations differ. The publisher's official materials remain authoritative.

Library Pass

A one-time purchase unlocks the games currently available in Magister and games we make available in the future. It is a purchase of access to this service, not a purchase of any game, rulebook, or other publisher material.

Payments

Web payments are processed by Stripe. In-app purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play, with RevenueCat supporting purchase and access management. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number. Prices, store terms, and payment details shown at checkout are part of your purchase. We will honour any refund or cancellation rights the law gives you.

Your account

In the mobile app, asking a question, buying a Library Pass, or restoring a purchase may create a Guest account. You may link it to an email address using a sign-in link. Keep access to that email address secure. You can delete your account from Settings; deletion does not itself refund a purchase, and eligible store purchases may be restored later. Please do not try to disrupt the service, bypass access controls, or use it in a way that harms others or the service.

Ownership

Game names, rulebooks, artwork, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Magister does not claim ownership of them. The Magister app, design, and original material belong to Magister and its contributors.

Fair limits

Magister is provided as available. We cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses caused by relying on an answer. Nothing here limits rights that the law says cannot be limited.

Changes

Magister may change or improve the service, including its game library. We may also update these terms. If we make a material change, we will update the date above.
